The Very Best Show in Vegas - Our Opinion
A lot of people ask us "what's the very best show in Vegas?," so we thought we'd share our opinion on the matter.
We initially tried to avoid answering this question directly, since "best" is a matter of opinion, by writing two articles on the best shows in Vegas -- but these two articles cover roughly 12 shows, and it seems that people want us to narrow down the choices (and give a review).
So, here's our two cents.
My favorite show in Vegas is the Beatles LOVE show by Cirque du Soleil. I am a huge Cirque du Soleil fan, having seen at least 7 of their shows, and while I've loved every one of them, I especially love LOVE.
There's something really magical, playful and moving about the show.
Part of it may be that I'm so familiar with the songs, and seeing the show brought back memories of growing up. You see, my Dad was a huge Beatles fan, and he played Beatles music non-stop in our house (or at least it seemed like it was non-stop). I didn't really like the Beatles back then, and even as I grew into adulthood and had a greater appreciation of music, I still never became a huge Beatles fan. Growing up, their music always seemed sad to me, and I never quite shook that impression.
So, needless to say, I wasn't a Beatles maniac when I walked in to the LOVE show. But somehow the LOVE show won me over completely. There was such incredible joy and playfulness in the show -- plus the performers did such an amazing job of storytelling through their movements and expressions. The songs came to life and suddenly had a whole new meaning to me. It was magical, extraordinary. I think I actually got tears in my eyes several times during the show -- and I don't get tears unless something really powerful has touched me. And at the end of the day, I think one of the coolest things was that I gained a newfound appreciation and love for a part of my Dad - the Beatles lover that he is.
So, there you have it. That's my favorite.
My boyfriend, on the other hand, has a different favorite show in Vegas: Ka by Cirque du Soleil, with Le Reve at the Wynn being a close runner-up.
Neither one of us has seen "O" yet, however, so all of this may change once we see it. A good number of our friends have told us that "O" is their favorite show. So, we'll see.
Anyway, there are at least a dozen really incredible shows in Vegas, and personally we've really enjoyed every single show that we've seen.
So - go ahead and pick the show that "clicks" the most with you...and we bet that you'll have an incredible time.
Ciao for now.
