Sigfried & Roy Bid Adieu

Two legends. One night. One cause.

Join the rest of the world in celebrating Siegfried & Roy’s final act, The Power of Love Gala, Saturday, February 28 at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Even if you can’t make it to Vegas to catch the dynamic duo in live action, ABC has jumped on board to commemorate this magnificent showcase with a scheduled airing on March 6 at 9pm. You can also check out a “20/20” special about the renowned teams illustrious 40 year career and their final curtain call.

Not only will this be Siegfried & Roy’s farewell performance, the Power of Love gala also seeks to benefit the twosome’s love child, the Keep Memory Alive foundation for the Lou Rovo Institute which is set to be completed by summer 2009. The institute, located in downtown Las Vegas, will be a leading research and treatment facility for brain disorders like Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, and Parkinson’s diseases; complete with some of the best doctors and researchers in the world.

But it wouldn’t be Vegas without a little bit of glitz, right? Legendary architect Frank Gehry, designer of famous buildings like the Guggenheim Museum in Spain, has signed on to design the 67,000 foot institute. Gehry’s contribution promises that the completed building will be nothing short of spectacular; a beacon in the Vegas skyline.

Tickets for this worthy event are available at the Keep Memory Alive website. Not only does this ticket buy your way into the Siegfried & Roy spectacular, you will also be in for some tasty treats cooked, fried, and sautéed by international celebrity chefs Jean-Philippe Maury, Martin Heierling, Todd English and Wolfgang Puck. You can also log on to the KMA website to make your donation to the Lou Rovo Institute. Click here for more information.
