Getting There

If you've never travelled to Vegas before, be sure to read these travel tips on getting to Vegas.  These great tips can literally save you hours of headache and hassle, not to mention money.

Tips on Flying to Vegas:

If you’re flying into Las Vegas and staying on or near the strip, we suggest taking a taxi or a hotel minibus rather than renting a car.

First, actually taking possession of a rental car in Vegas can take a lot more time than you might think.  Also, driving in Vegas can be a nightmare!

Many Las Vegas hotels are now connected by walkways or monorail, and many people enjoy walking from site to site. Plus, by walking you’re almost guaranteed to see a lot more than you would if you tried to drive to all the points of interest.

Should you acquire a few blisters while walking, or just get tired out, you can easily hail a cab and get back to your room in no time.

Tips on Driving to Vegas:

If you plan on driving to Las Vegas, you might want to consider staying in town Sunday night and leaving the city on Monday.

Traffic headed to Southern California in particular can be extremely congested.  One Sunday night, we gave up on the jammed traffic and stopped for dinner and some leisurely shopping.  Unfortunately, we found ourselves right back in the middle of a colossal traffic back-up when we were ready to try again (which was after almost two hours of chilling at the outlet stores).

Our advice – consider flying to Las Vegas if it’s in your budget.  If it’s not, stay over Sunday night.  It will preserve your peace of mind and insure good memories of your exciting Vegas weekend.
