Best Things to Do in Las Vegas - 5 Great Ideas

#1:  See the Las Vegas Strip

The first thing you really need to take a look at is the famous Las Vegas Strip.

You probably don’t want to wander here alone at night, especially if you’re female, but here you’ll find the main veins of Vegas: the casinos, the strip clubs, the tattoo parlors, and oh yes, the wedding chapels – Las Vegas' other main attraction!

As a sidenote, if you decide you want to get married in Vegas whether by Elvis or not, remember you’ll need to allow time to get the necessary paperwork done.  This is such a common occurrence that even your hotel reception should be able to give you all the information you need to have the perfect Vegas wedding

Treasure Island's high-roller lounge in Las Vegas#2:  Go to a Casino

Gamble!  It’s Vegas – of course you want to gamble.  The question is where will you gamble?

If you’re a poker player than you probably want to go home and boast that you won a few hands at Wynn Las Vegas, or at least that you’ve sat around the felt at the Wynn!  Remember to keep one of your chips to prove it later, or sell on eBay to recoup some of the losses you made because of “lousy cards”!

At Vegas Chill, we're really into responsible gambling.  So, whether you’re a slots, cards or dice person, make sure you don’t step foot onto the casino floor without knowing exactly what you can afford to lose.

Better still, don’t take more than you can afford out of your hotel room, and leave the credit cards locked safely in your safety deposit box there.  If you’ve got limited funds with you, you know that no matter whether lady luck shines your way or not, you’re not going to lose the house and the college fund!

Whether you’re staying at the Bellagio, spending time at the casino there, or just taking a look around the more famous hotels in Vegas, you must see the Bellagio Fountains.

These magnificent fountains are 200 feet tall, and they move in a perfectly choreographed way to music.

There’s no fee to watch the fountains and so even if you’re on the tightest of budget or lost your remaining money at a blackjack table you can still enjoy the splendor of this famous water feature.

Blue Man Group, a great show in Las Vegas#4:  See a Show or Concert

It’s tempting to say that you’re in Vegas and so you’re going to spend your evening in the casino, but try to leave the tables and slots for at least one night.  Some of the best entertainment in the US  is to be found in Vegas.

Perhaps the Rat Pack are now gone, but shows such as Le Reve, the Blue Man Group (pictured above), and Mystere by Cirque du Soleil allow you to enjoy a less frantic, but no less electric side of the city.

Big names perform in Las Vegas all the time, and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to get tickets to headliner concerts.  You can get tickets to these hot concerts by clicking the link below to StubHub, one of our advertisers.

#5:  Take a Trip to the Grand Canyon or the Hoover Dam

Lastly don’t think that because you are in Vegas you have to stay indoors the whole time.  Las Vegas is incredibly close to some great places for outdoor activities such as golfing and river rafting.

With the Hoover Dam and even the Grand Canyon close by, there’s plenty of opportunity to get away from the people and noise for at least half a day and get to see both man-made and natural beauty.

If you’ve never seen the Grand Canyon, try and fit in a visit before you go home.  You’ll be glad you did!
