Vegas Nightlife - Tips for Clubbing in Vegas
The club and lounge scene in Las Vegas is nearly as well known for its parties as it is for its constant changes. Nightlife is a business in Vegas and the tight competition makes things a little more interesting for enthusiastic partiers.
Both huge clubs with multiple rooms and more intimate venues offer great opportunities for nighttime fun in the city.
Geared mainly towards the 21 and over crowd, lounges provide music-lovers a place to watch and listen to live bands and those ready to break in their new shoes floors on which to dance the night away.
Cover Charges and Cash
Unfortunately for the ladies, larger clubs no longer waive cover charges for women. If you’re determined not to wait in line, many clubs sell front-of-the-line spaces for $35-$75, all-access passes for $75 and over, or ultra-VIP packages from $350 to upwards of $1500. The bottom line is that if you’re going out, you’re going to end up paying. Some smaller places will let women in without any cover but if you want to have a memorable (or too good to remember) night at the top clubs in Vegas, you’re going to have to fork over some cash.
Tip: if you plan on going to at least three clubs while you're in Vegas, then be sure to check out our Vegas Nighclub Package, which offers VIP entry to over 20 clubs (plus drink coupons and more). The package is really a great deal - its offered from only $127.
Dress Codes for Vegas Clubs
Though women have far more leeway than men, dress codes are enforced at the higher-class venues. T-shirt and flip-flops are definitely unacceptable. Make sure you review each club’s dress code before you leave your room. Also check out our Vegas fashion articles for men and women on what to wear in Vegas.
General Nightclub Tips
To avoid long lines, get to clubs close to opening time (usually around 10pm). Most Vegas clubs close when the crowds become too small or drunk to continue buying more drinks. Beware that Vegas-style partying is a 24-hour activity and be prepared by drinking lots of water, maybe taking along an energy drink and sporting a solid pair of dancing shoes.
